Youths in Kwale Delta State have taken up a mass protest on the streets of Kwale, an oil town in Delta state. This protest was based on their agitation for electricity by the members of the Kwale kingdom. It has been for over three years when Kwale had experienced constant supply of electricity. The protest which took place at around 6pm on Friday along the Eke, Umusagede, Umuseti and Umusan metropolis.
This had been suspected to be as a result of the alleged sales of the electricity supply from all over seven oil companies in the land to Asaba, the state capital by some greedy elderly States men of the community. Meanwhile, Governor Ifayin Okowa had given them his word immediately after the protest, saying he would get back to them in two weeks time.
